FROM THE BOARD CHAIRMAN
For 17 years, Beautifully Flawed Foundation has poured hope and the message of overcoming into the lives of amputees and young people. We have been overjoyed to see how God has worked through our organization to bring life-altering relationships, inspiration, and joy to those who are hurting. Time and again, we stand in awe of the power of simply caring for others and sharing the beautiful truth that this world is indeed full of trouble, but we can take heart, because Jesus has overcome the world! (Paraphrased from John 16:33)
As many of us witnessed Bethany Hamilton find strength in God to overcome adversity and limb loss, we continue to restore hope and inspire others to overcome any trauma, hardship or difficulty in life. The resulting effect is a life-giving community of healing, which encourages others to shine brightly through their unique stories and to their spheres of influence.
Thank you for your partnership in the transformative work of the Beautifully Flawed Foundation. We could not possibly do it without you! You are strengthening a new generation of overcomers whose joy and resilience brings light and hope to the world.

This past year has been such a blessing! We’ve been in awe watching how God is using Beautifully Flawed Foundation to encourage and uplift the limb-loss community.
It’s an honor to be part of this mission—pointing others to the hope we have in Jesus, a hope that gives strength to rise above life’s challenges. I’m so excited to see how Beautifully Flawed will keep growing—through God’s love and the amazing relationships being built in this special community. We know there are so many incredible things ahead for BFF this coming year, and we’re stoked to be part of it! Thank you so much for your love and support—it means the world.
Beautifully Flawed Foundation Programs
BEAUTIFULLY FLAWED RETREAT
Our Beautifully Flawed Retreat brings young women (ages 15-26) together who have experienced traumatic limb loss or limb difference to show them they are not alone, that God loves them, and He sees their beauty! The healing and hope found at this retreat is truly unmatched in the amputee world. This four-day ex-perience includes activities that inspire, stories from traumatic amputees, Bible teaching, small group connection times, expert advice, and practical health and wellness tips from onsite doctors, trainers and nutrition specialists.

FORGE RETREAT
The Forge Retreat is a four-day experience for men who’ve faced traumatic limb loss or limb difference to discover strength, hope, and courage. Surrounded by Christ-centered community and having opportunities to surf, wakesurf, and more, attendees discover that overcoming is possible and God is forging them with purpose.
Men leave inspired and encouraged in their faith, empowered by the camarade-rie of brothers around them, and confident that God takes the pain (fires) en-dured in this life and uses them to shape them into the men He’s always created them to be.

ENCOURAGEMENT PACKAGES
We send a personalized package to bring joy and encouragement to those who have recently experienced a traumatic event or loss. Reaching out with com-passion, we send or hand deliver encouragement packages to help restore hope to those affected. Over the years we have sent hundreds of these packages to individuals experiencing some of their hardest seasons of personal loss.
SHINE FORTH
Shine Forth is a free community event for all generations to be inspired by hope, encouraged in their faith, and reminded through powerful testimonies that overcoming is possible through Jesus. We partner with local churches to host this one-day event where Bethany Hamilton along with former Beautifully Flawed and Forge Retreat attendees share inspiring stories. This is a powerful evening of worship, impartation, and a testament to how God is faithful to heal, restore, and make beauty from ashes.
Our mission
is to encourage a broken world and offer hope to overcome through Jesus Christ. We believe there is a longing within every individual to overcome the trials, pains and difficulties of life.
We believe that longing is answered and fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. With a vision to establish individuals to be overcomers in Christ, the family and friends of Bethany Hamilton, a world-class professional surfer who lost her arm to a shark bite at the age of 13, formed the Beautifully Flawed Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

“The Beautifully Flawed Foundation was so much better than I was anticipating.
Any time I am in a crowded room, I scan the room with my eyes to see who is watching me or looking at me weirdly due
to me looking different than most people as a quad amputee. I realized during the middle of the retreat that I had not done that once the entire week. I’ve honestly never felt so comfortable and wholeheartedly accepted as I did at the retreat, and for that, I am so thankful.”
